On the morning of March 27, the International Cooperation Office (ICO) of the School of Earth Sciences and Engineering successfully hosted the latest "Morning Coffee" event in Room A351. Filled with the rich aroma of coffee, the gathering provided a warm and relaxing break for the vast majority of the school's international faculty, who attended to share professional insights and personal anecdotes away from their busy schedules. This lively gathering further advanced the school's initiative to establish a regular platform for in-depth communication between Chinese and international academic communities.

Furthermore, the morning gathering organically attracted the participation of numerous students from the school. Transcending language barriers, students took the initiative to engage in face-to-face discussions with international faculty members regarding academic studies, research directions, and cross-cultural communication. This "decentralized" and informal exchange significantly bridged the gap between teachers and students, allowing academic ideas to spark through relaxed interactions.

Notably, the event also welcomed a special guest. An international expert, invited to the school for academic exchange by Dr. Chen Chen, gladly joined the gathering after noticing the event poster. The expert highly praised the engaging international atmosphere at the venue, noting that such social activities—which offer both warmth and depth—are highly valuable for enhancing a scholar's sense of belonging.

Driven by the shared enthusiasm for this collaborative culture, "Morning Coffee" will no longer be just an occasional gathering. Moving forward, it will be upgraded to a regular, recurring event, officially scheduled for 10:00 AM every other Friday in Room A351. We anticipate that Room A351 will serve not only as a place for administrative affairs but also as an "International Reception Room" for ideological exchange among all faculty and students. Whether you are discussing cutting-edge literature or sharing stories from your hometown, piping hot coffee will be waiting for you every bi-weekly Friday morning—you are always welcome to drop by!
